CLEAN! CLEAN! CLEAN!

Quick dump is the best thing ever!  You just call, they bring the little dumpster. You fill and they come pick it up. We filled that baby up!
Cleaning, cleaning...   This is it! The final count down. We are getting everything cleaned and ready for the packers/movers to come this saturday and sunday.  This part is really exhausting. I can not believe that this week is really here.  : )

A day gone WRONG! (a post by Mokie)

You know this day started off just great....I was napping in my favorite spot on the couch when one of the Mommies said I should get a bath and trim before my big car ride to Connecticut. That is where it all went down hill!

I mean what in the heck is going on here, I look like a hot mess! Hince the not-to-happy-about-it  look on my face. You would NEVER know she went to dog grooming school. I am going to be the laughing stock of my new town.

Oh and I see the laughing is staring with Colby...just you wait, she is doing you next buddy! We will see who is laughing then.

St. Joseph Is My Real Estate Agent

We went to our local Catholic Book Store to get a little extra assurance that our home in Nebraska will sell quickly. We purchased the St. Joseph sell your house kit.  If you have never heard of this you can check out the lore behind it at Snopes.com.

Here is the link: http://www.snopes.com/luck/stjoseph.asp

It is a long held catholic believe that burying a small statue of St. Joseph and saying the appropriate prayers with reverence to St. Joseph will bring about a quick and profitable sell of ones home.

*IF YOU CLICK ON THE PICTURES YOU CAN SEE THEM IN LARGE FORMAT*
Here Kristi is getting ready to plant St. Joe!

You first have to decide where to place St. Joseph and dig the hole.  We decided the best place would be near a little flower bed, beside the driveway  (so he could monitor all those prospective buyers coming and going). As the cartoon at the top of this page suggest there are numerous beliefs on how and where to plant St. Joseph. In the end we decided on a style all our own.

Dig the hole

and place St. Joseph inside(kinda looks like a little St. Joseph Grotto doesn't it?!).

Here is our completed work.
We decided not to bury him all the way under but to put him where he can look out.  Come on St. Joseph do your stuff and find us the perfect buyer!!

~Prayer to St. Joseph~
O, Saint Joseph
you who taught our Lord
the carpenter's trade
and saw to it
that he was always properly housed hear my earnest plea.

I want you to help me now
as you helped your foster-child Jesus,
and as you have helped many others
in the matter of housing.

I wish to sell this property
quickly, easily and profitably
and I implore you to grant my wish
by bringing me a good buyer,
one who is ager, compliant, and honest
and by letting nothing impede the
rapid conclusion of the sale.

It's OFFICIAL!!

We are leaving the state of Nebraska! After 6 months of job searching it has happened...Elizabeth has been offered a job and we are moving to Enfield, Connecticut...that's about 15 minutes outside of Hartford and between NYC and Boston..two hours drive to either city! Above is a picture of our new rental house.  I will use this blog to document the adventures we have in our new surroundings. It's so great to be back on the east coast!!  : )
